It will be the London hub's busiest day for arrivals during the lead-up to the event, which is due to begin Wednesday.
The airport took the opportunity to unveil a number of improvements for passengers with reduced mobility, having recently worked with the Whizz-Kidz charity to make the facility more accessible.
New features include an increased number of specialist lifts, an on-site wheelchair repair service and new accessible toilets.
'Given the increased challenges of the Paralympic Games, we wanted to make sure that we were prepared to meet the needs of the greater than usual number of passengers with reduced mobility visiting Heathrow,' explained Colin Matthews, chief executive of airport operator BAA.
Heathrow is the official host airport of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, with BAA having invested ?20 million in the project.
