ABC?s World News may have got a Royal Wedding boost last week. The broadcast actually beat NBC?s Nightly News on Friday, the day of the wedding, by 236,000 viewers (7.6 million vs. 7.4 million).

ABC?s Diane Sawyer and CBS? Katie Couric anchored their respective broadcasts from London on Friday. While Brian Williams arrived in London to do the same, the newsman quickly turned around in order to anchor the broadcast from the U.S. in the wake of extensive tornado and storm damage in the South.

However, NBC?s Nightly News did finish the week on top among total viewers and news? target demographic of adults 25-54 averaging 8.8 million viewers with 2.7 million of them in the demo, followed by World News (8.2 million, with 2.1 million in the demo) and the CBS Evening News (5.7 million, 1.6 million in the demo).
