Senior Service Engineer

Job Description

Required skills include knowledge and troubleshooting ability for:

  • PC hardware and software;
  • Servers and Windows server operating systems;
  • Microsoft operating systems and programs;
  • Exchange and BES;
  • Adobe software;
  • Blackberrys, iPhones, Android devices and Tablets;
  • Advanced knowledge of LANS, VLANS, VPN, routers, switches, firewalls & all protocols used by current technologies;
  • Analyzing IP traffic patterns;
  • Backup programs;
  • Anti-virus/anti-spyware programs;
  • Mentoring junior technicians

We are looking for an experienced Senior Service Engineer professional to work with customers onsite and by phone to fix their computer problems and make things run right again. If the issue is software, you?ll fix the issue remotely. If it?s hardware or networking, you?ll be sent to the site by our dispatcher.

This is a challenging technical support job where every day is different and you?ll use industry-leading tools to help businesses eliminate frustrating computer problems.

We?re looking for a motivated ?ticket closer? to join our team. This position is for someone with Post-Secondary IT training and a minimum of 4-5 years? experience working as a service engineer, preferably for an IT service company.

This is a position with extensive opportunity for further training and promotion within our company.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is a desire to learn and a drive to constantly improve your technical knowledge and ability.

The successful candidate will become part of our team, providing onsite and remote support to BSSI?s small business clients and helping to maintain the health and functionality of their networks and computers. That includes:

  • Researching and identifying technology opportunities;
  • Managing Projects;
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, documenting and solving users? computer issues while maintaining customer satisfaction;
  • Designing, managing, maintaining and supporting our users? networks, equipment, and software;
  • Providing onsite and remote support services to take care of our customer needs;
  • Utilizing BSSI?s remote monitoring and management systems to help effectively manage our clients? networks.
  • Updating documentation and service order information with accurate, detailed information.
