Compassion is an imperative value in the Zimbabwe Culture. This can be proved by the support Zimbabweans give to members of their extended families. In recent years, the circle of the extended family has evolved into many branches which includes but is not limited to the orphans in the villages where we grew up, the schools we attended, the churches we belonged to, the sports teams we used to support, the districts and the provinces we came from and as a whole, Zimbabwe our beloved country. In an effort to try to give back and empower the afore-mentioned extended family braches, the USA-Zim Unity Power Individual Compassionate Donors Group was formed. This is a group of concerned individual Zimbabweans who would like to or who are already involved in the empowerment of people back home in Zimbabwe. These ICDs have chosen or will choose who-ever they want to empower, in whatever way and wherever they would like to give financial and material support. ICD Group is a network of individual compassionate donors who are or would like to directly help the orphans in their villages, give back to their former schools, their churches, their former sports teams, etc so that their financial and material help can go directly to their intended beneficiaries. This is an encouragement to give back to our communities. USA-Zim Unity Power ICD Group will network and share ideas and boost their efforts through get-together events such as the Patsime Get-Together Zimbabwe Has Talents Show, social media, phone calls, emails, etc. Tsitsi Mutseta is an example of an ICD Group member who started a non-profit organization called Compassion for African Villages based out of San Diego, California.
